What To Wear At My Wedding
I will be getting married in the Philippines this September. My fiancee will be wearing a white wedding dress.
As my suit is quite old I am looking to buy a new outfit. Given the high temperatures out there, should I just go for a shirt and trousers or is it the norm to wear a suit with tie?

Yep, I think Barong is just perfect really, and a whole lot more practical.
It's your wedding and depends on whether AC is available, but for comfort and also bags of style a nice well fitting Barong could be considered 'de rigueur'

I wore a suit. My wife insisted. I bought it in M and S and took it with me on the flight to the Philippines.

Barong for me, and for the old man who's coming over aswell to be the best man. All left in the capable hands of the special one. Just hope Dad's partner actually measured him correctly as he gets there one day before the wedding :P

my husband wore barong that I bought for him. He's the one who decide what his going to wear and it looks nice to him. There's also different style of it that you can choose.

Got same there in october but I seen the wedding cost advice here did not include kitting up the entire spouse family as i'm sure few days before the wedding my fiance likely to whisper in my ear that her father feeling sad of the wedding bcoz he has nothing to wear and as soon as I agree to take him to the mall to kit him up, the mother will be like me too and the 6 sibblings also screaming me too!! setting you back another 15-20k pesos kitting up the entire family. So how did you guys that have done this before dodge this situation without appearing to be rude?

Be open with your partner about your finances as you would with a western partner, be honest and discuss the budgets together. Then if unforeseen requests occur, your wife will be armed with the right information for you to decide together the best way forward, and let her respond to the request (don't get involved yourself, let your wife get the title of being stingy)
