Anyway, the older generations who had discipline instilled into them are by far the better individuals than the youth of today. Aye, let's carry on with the naughty step routine. I'm sure that'll make the world a better place and every child will turn into a respectful decent human being and we'll all live happily ever after.

I agree entirely, never did me any harm (only happened a couple of times that I can remember) loved my dad (step father) a real local gentleman respected by all.

Me too. It wasn't pleasant and I may have grizzled and sulked but by the next day it was all forgotten. A balance of discipline and love, along with fairness and mentoring is the recipe IMO.
