... I realise as much ... but I'm gonna mention the fact anyway:
At this time next year, I'll have lived for 50 years (half a century!) in the same house.

True enough,
! However, bear in mind, this is the 'mobile' age (mobile 
s apart) when many people are locating elsewhere because of job changes/transfers and so forth.
