    Visa to visit UK

    I’d be grateful for advice.

My wife’s cousin Mary residing in Philippines has recently married Jerry her British fiancée.

They have had a relationship for many years, he visiting The Philippines but they have never lived together. He is resident in UK.

Mary has two children by a previous marriage. Andy will be 18 in July, Tina is 21. Their father is dead.

They all want to visit Jerry in UK.

They have asked me what type of visas they will require.

I’ve looked on the internet but It’s not clear.

    Any advice would be welcome

    Many thanks

    John

They can apply for a standard visit visa (tourist visa) if they just want to visit for a few weeks/months (6months). But they will have to prove that they will all go back to the Philippines and not overstay here. Showing they have great ties to the Philippines is quite tricky though since your wife's cousin is married to the British guy.

Anyway, here is the link for the visa application.

    Thank you.

    I must be getting old (I’m 83).

Having followed the link I can’t work out what must be done. How to get the biometric info in Manila that’s required.

Can anyone please post an idiots, step by step guide.

    Thanks
    John

PS It seems that the difficult system might account for some of the people who are arriving by small boat. No paperwork required !!!
