Looks good, the Philippines is starting to re-open for international travel without quarantine, though a PCR test will still seemingly be required within 48 hours of departure.

At what cost? If you don't mind me asking Simon. Three weeks ago the best price i could find was average £650 and yesterday the average for flying February was £3000 and no flights before 25th all booked up before then. I must point out the £650 prices were after September 2022.

Hi Michael, it was over £4000. No seats available into Clark for the whole of February and the only seat available into Manila was first class

I am hoping these prices do come down or i will not be travelling there as much as i was before. Not been or seen our house there for close to two years now. We had slight damage in the big typhoon that hit a month or so back but apart from that i would expect everything to be the same.
Who has travelled back since it opened back up last week? any issues?

On countdown mode as we have 4 years left in the UK then Cebu will be our main home and the UK will be for holidays.

keep an eye on flight prices some expats that are booking to come back have said they are almost back to normal, there has been mixed tales of those travelling on tourist visa and complaints that they was not informed they would not be able to extend the 29 days, but others say there is a way .theres talk of needing covid insurance, this is only what i see in facebook expat groups and not to be taken as all fact

Just booked with Singapore for April return May £745 and five year old Monica £545, Yes much closer to normal now. if we booked to go in May it would have been £627 but that time was not convenient.

Insurance cover was with Post Office including hospital or hotel isolation ect very reasonable.

Entry to the Philippines

The Philippines’ Government Resolution 160B explains the entry rules for foreign nationals to the Philippines.
From 10 February 2022, fully vaccinated British passport holders are permitted to enter the Philippines. You will be permitted to enter the country visa free for an initial period of 30 days and will not be required to undergo facility-based quarantine providing you meet the following requirements:

• Six months validity on your passport and holding return or onward tickets;
• Proof of vaccination status; Proof of a negative PCR test taken no more than 48 hours prior to departing for the Philippines; and
• Obtain, prior to arrival, travel insurance for COVID-19 treatment costs with a minimum coverage of USD 35,000 for the duration of your stay in the Philippines

British nationals with valid and existing visas for the Philippines continue to be allowed entry provided you are fully vaccinated and are able to present proof of vaccination and a negative PCR test.

Emirates provide you with covid insurance as part of the ticket price, so no need to take out extra coverage unless you want to.

Need to consider the regulations of transit airports as well as the destination.

Turkish Airlines have good prices now (MAN-MNL) via Istanbul, there are currently no problems with transit in Istanbul for vaccinated passengers.

KLM have excellent prices (MAN-MNL) via Amsterdam with a "stop" in Bangkok.
- Thai entry controls would be in force for the short walk off and on the plane in Bangkok, which would seemingly require a PCR test before boarding the return flight in Manila.

Singapore might be difficult.
