Historic Royal Seal Belonging To Illegitimate Son Of James V Rediscovered
Hidden from public view since 1901, this valuable antique - dating from the 16th century - had been made for one of the Scottish monarch's numerous illegitimate sons (Mary Queen of Scots, who was born at Linlithgow Palace while he was in the throes of dying at the Palace of Falkland, being his only legitimate heir).
It is now in the care of National Museums Scotland.
