    From Humble Beginnings ...

    https://www.politico.com/magazine/st...-mother-213882 ...

's where the world's most powerful politician was spawned ... his ancestral home in a remote Scottish village on the Island of Lewis.

OK, I realise this link is more than four years' old. But given it dated back to the outset of Trump's presidency, 'twas ... ... IMO, no less appropriate to mention in passing - during these final throes of his campaign for re-election!

Interesting article, he has done very well for himself, a great man.

Hope he has no long term ill effects from the Bat virus.

'Great' ISN'T exactly an adjective I'd use to describe his term of office, though,

... "Great Wall(y)" of USA more like, in reference to his attempts to keep out neighbouring Mexicanos!

He doesn't keep out all Mexicans, just the ones who try to enter illegally.

I like Mexico, been there a few times and find the people very friendly, despite my inability to speak basic Spanish.

It would be good to take Julie there for a couple of months, see how she manages with the Latin American Spanish language. She speaks Tagalog, Warai, and English fluently, I know that the Philippine languages have an element of Spanish (Mantequilla=Butter etc) and it would be interesting to see how she manages. Long way to travel from Manila to Mexico though, it would most likely include two long-haul flight sectors, Manila - Taepae - Amsterdam - Mexico, or connecting with Aeromexico in Tokyo.

I recently discovered an interesting film/documentary "Hecho en Mexico", well worth watching for the music and social aspects, I recommend it.
Google the copy on "Vimeo", just make sure you get the version with English subtitles, directors cut.
