Detained In Dubai

... y'know when I was a kid, there was a rhyme we used to chant, viz:-
"Sticks & "stones may break my bones
But ... ... names will never harm me".
Sadly, that's ^ fast becoming a thing of the past even here in - thanks, need I say, to politically correct thinking on the part of modern governments which frown upon free speech by [ordinarily] law-abiding citizens.

Firstly, Dubai/UAE is a very good CUSTOMER of the UK... and that is probably the only reason why this and so many of the Arab/Gulf OIL States, and their medieval practices are tolerated at all by civilised countries.
So, despite what the FCO may be stating publicly, I can't see them doing much to upset the UAE rulers, by defending this rather (IMO) stupid woman.
