    Minor travelling alone?

OK hoping someone here has done this before:-

My step daughter aged 13 has dual citizenship and holds both British and a Philippines passport. She has expressed a wish to travel to the Philippines alone and be met by my sister in law on arrival.

The idea is she will fly PAL as it's just one flight to Manilla and the sister in law to meet her at Manilla to fly on to Tacloban. Same on the way home.

I believe you can get a hostess to look after a minor but has anyone any experience of this or could offer advice? Is it better she travels on a British or Philippine passport for instance?

Yes, you can get someone that cares for the minor. A friend of mine sent her son to China from the UK a few years ago and someone took care of him, before, during and after the flight. No idea if there is a cost involved or even if there is a cost, best to contact PAL.

I sent my son (UK passport, but also with Filipino citizenship) back to UK from the Phils, when he was 9 years old.

No special permissions needed in the Phils, if on a British passport.

Contact the airline before the flight, and arrangements will be made for one of their staff to meet the child, and supervise the youngster throughout their journey.

If she is going for less than 30 days... probably better to use her British passport.
