Getting my DSLR camera back to the UK

Got back from cebu on Sunday morning.

We realised at cebu Mactan airport that my camera was missing one hour before our flight.

Annoying but I thought ok I have travel insurance that covers loss so I will get a police report

Turns out I got taken to three different offices at the airport and finally I'm told I need to go to city hall and file it it there for a fee before they will issue any formal loss report.

That's a 3 hour drive in cebu traffic.

Anyway my wife took pics on the way to the airport which just happened to catch the taxi ID on the back window and the hotel also traced the taxi and the driver found the camera bag and took it to the hotel which was then picked up by my wife's mum

Any suggestions on the best and safest way to get it shipped back to the uk? I don't trust Philippines post.

    Thank you.

That's what I thought to be honest. Not cheap at around 9000 pesos though. Ouch.

The camera is worth a lot more though.

Can't you leave it until your next trip... Is it something you need that urgently?

It has all the pictures from Freya's Baptism so would be good to get it back.

If you can get someone to bring it back on one of there trips , or take out the SD cards and get them posted, i would not risk it being posted by anyone or any carrier if the camera is worth £££££££££s

If you can get it to Marikina in the next week or two, we could bring it back.

Could also have somebody upload the pics to the 'cloud'... to keep them doubly safe. Open a special 'dropbox' for the purpose, and give them the password.
