English-born joiner ordered to leave the UK by immigration.
English-born joiner, 21, who has lived in the UK for his entire life and is as 'British as they come' is ordered to LEAVE the country because his mother was born in Australia
- Shane Ridge, 21, was born in Britain to Australian-born mother and British father
- He went to school here, has voted and used the NHS and now pays income tax
- But he has now been told he has 'no lawful basis to be in the UK' and must leave
- Mr Ridge does not have right to citizenship because parents were unmarried

What utter stupidity.
Going for the low-hanging fruit, as usual.
Meanwhile...

Still waiting for my (born in Phils) son's passport... 13 months on.
A DNA test would have been quicker and easier. Tossers.

Graham.... really
I was getting annoyed when it took six months for us to get Jasper's passport. They were stalling with his, asking for more information and unreasonable things. I contacted them via email and unleashed a very strong and stern letter.
They initially didn't want any information about other siblings but I sent it anyways with the original application. Then they wanted more proof of our marriage and documents that I had already sent. I told them that I was not resending the documents as they already had proof from my two other children's applications and if they were anything of a investigating department they could connect the dots and see that my two other children already have their passports with no problems. I think they are useless and have no idea of the stress they cause everyone with their condescending attitude and stance. Again, why should we, with genuine applications suffer like this.
I really think hunk you shouldn't give them 'what for' and get hold of the supervisor of the department to follow up on why it has taken so long.
oh, another thing I just remembered, all of our documents were sent to Hong Kong for reviewing...... I thought the whole point of sending it to the UK was for speed and efficiency...... obviously not!!!!If you want your dreams to come true ...... first you have to wake up

It is apparently taking longer and longer Steve.
They send each and every (Phils) document back to Manila for checking locally. After one is ok'd, the next one is sent... and so on.
I read somewhere that the 'helpline' is not even part of a government department , and they have no access to any case notes.
I will email the passport office today, come to think of it... if only to ask for the return of my wife's passport, which has now expired, they've had it so long !

Graham, I had to ask for my wife's passport back too as it was taking so long and our wedding certificate as we had to go to Singapore so I could get a Balikbayan visa on re- entry. But you can contact them via the online form and get to someone who you can moan at. Not sure about sending each document back to Phils though. I applied after you as I remember.

I had enough trouble with just a simple renewal for the kids.. Nearly blew a gasket.
WTF has happened to our country and old citizenship rights and why do the HMPO hire such arrogant/ignorant MOFO`s?

You really need to look at the government website and take it all from there I'm afraid, as any info' I give may not be up to date.
You will certainly need your and your wife's birth certificates, as well as that of the baby, plus both of your passports and marriage cert (if married). Maternity records, photos of you all together, etc.
