    Far From The Madding Crowd

Did ANY of you here happen to watch Sunday evening's superb, updated film adaption of Thomas Hardy's romantic Victorian novel ... set, I think, in 1870s Dorset farmland?

And, if so ... ... assuming you're old enough to remember - how do you consider it compared with its predecessor from 50 years' ago?

    Far From The Madding Crowd

    2015 remake!

... for the likes of me, at least, provided a most welcome relief from BBC's [seemingly relentless] live coverage of the World Athletic Championships ... spread over two consecutive weekends.

Watched it on catch-up with my wife Arthur. We both thoroughly enjoyed it. The BBC at it's best.
