    Travel Insurance

I have just asked for a Travel Insurance quote for my next visit to Phills, its come out as £346.56 thats for a 3 month stay in Phills, and that quote is from the Post Office... where do you guys get your Travel Insurance from ?.

Is there any travel insurance for both British and non British that I can avail? Suggestions please. Ta xx

I have searched online, and found World Nomads and IMG.
The first I am wary on what I read. IMG only does medical insurance.
    What do people suggest?

Most UK companies don't cover foreign nationals.

Ohers bringing partners/girlfriends to UK, who did they use?
    Thanks in advance

Not to sure on the question here, if you are both living here and you are wanting insurance to travel just fill in the forms, ie, family, couple, single policy,

Thanks, Steve. Not too sure with my question either but I read one of the insurance provider's policy that it only applies to residents of UK. I don't know how they define 'resident' though

Someone who is living here in England, Scotland, wales and northern Ireland and have got a postal address, that is what i think it means, but i am sure someone will come along and say if its right or wrong.

Generally speaking for most travel insurance policies a UK resident is understood to be:-
    - someone who has their main home in the UK
    - someone who has lived in the UK for 183 days (6 months) out of the last 12 months.
    - someone who is registered with a UK GP
    - someone who is allowed re-entry to the UK beyond the life of the policy

So many different policies though so would be wise to check with the specific insurance company you want.

World Nomads and IMG (Europe) have policies. Frankly, I'm struggling to find a good policy.

maybe you could try this website http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/ins...avel-insurance

I usually pay 30-50 quid for a whole year.

I'm also shopping around for it at the moment.

    Have a look at moneysupermarket.com

Watch those slimy toads, Michael. It may be cheap but the cover is usually very limited. Best to read the policy details properly before your next trip.

Go to Compare the Market and you can have different quotes for any particular things you want in your insurance. We did that last time we went to the Philippines and we paid around £50-£60 more or less for both Keith and me, and that's including all his pre-existing illness. We are travelling to America for 2 weeks on Monday and we paid £45 for both of us in insurance, including coverage for Keith's pre-existing illness as well.

I lost a laptop (stolen) they paid out no problems.
Apparently they were a ''Which'' recommendation.

The consequence of no insurance is far more expensive. Look at the Muslim British guy living in Sweden who was shot in Cebu last month, he had to set up a 'go-fund me' page to try and pay his medical expenses.

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.

We took out a basic insurance to cover us as far as Manila, but for Mindano down south - because most insurance won't cover that area due to unrest - we took out an insurance with PAL airlines to cover our two week stay, and they're a lot cheaper!
