Father loses case for taking child out of school

It seems that the father who took his child to Disney in a school term and was fined for this has lost his case.
I think he was fined over £ 100+ for doing this and he wanted to take it further.
Well it seems it is going to be down to the schools to see if you are able to do this with out being fined or being fined either way it will be cheaper to take them out rather then paying in a school holiday term.
I wonder if not just the schools but the tour operators, the holiday companies got involved in this so the prices they can charge you will be the highest still.

I am glad i don't have to do this anymore.

"disnae" affect me either, Steve. Does seem rather a bit OTT, though, penalising the dad for what could, perhaps, be perceived by some, as being an educational trip.

Mind you ... ... I've no doubt a fine of around £100+ would be considered "small beer" for a father who can afford the cost of taking his kid to somewhere like Disneyland.

Problem is they all tend to call it an educational trip, if it's the final week of term to me that's not a problem but mid-term is out of order as the child misses out on a lot of lessons and then the teacher has to spend more time with them to catch up....

You would think that the holiday season would be cheaper because of the extra business

Maybe you will realize when you have to book a holiday with any child in tow .
