Malaysia Airlines or Air Asia ??
Greetings everyone.
I'm off to the Philippines towards the end of March for a month.
My wife would like to pop over to Malaysia to see her brother for a few days which would be nice. My problem is that the flying time direct is about 4 hours, but the only 2 airlines that seemingly fly direct from Manila according to Skyscanner are Malaysia and Air Asia who haven't exactly had good press in recent years.
Faced with this choice I must confess that I'm more inclined to bottle out.
Has anyone got any other suggestions ??

I can only share limited experience.
I've not had any bad experiences with Malaysia Airlines
I have though not had any good experiences with AirAsia
To be fair, Malaysia Airlines has been rebranded and reorganised and I've had no flights since that.
My biggest gripe with AirAsia is the often changing flight times and still long long delays. It may not always be their fault but these days I'd rather pay a bit extra for a better chance of a decent schedule.
Not much help I know but something to consider

Actually, where in Malaysia? Could it be worth flying into Singapore and then getting a coach

A coach ...... a long, hard journey. But a train is possible.
If I recall correctly, Malaysia Air route share with Philippines Airlines, so it's a toss up as to who the flight will be operated by.
KL is an interesting city, highly recommended. Petronas Towers (get there early for a ticket) and the Batu Caves are a must.No man is an island, but Barry is

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.

I had some interesting times at the Hard Rock Cafe in KL
As others have said, given a chance, it's a really 'must-go' destination. IMO

Thanks Guys for your advice.
Clark is not an option. Coming up 2 stops and almost £700.
I've done it before when I was actually in Singapore. Specially Taxi place actually drives you across at a reasonable price.
Just checked Skyscanner again and Cebu Pacific are now showing cheapest to both KL and Singapore. Are they any good ?

Marco, why not go to the Philippines via KL ?
Fly direct from London to KL ...... stop off for 3-4 days, then get a flight to Manila or Cebu ?
Breaks the journey, Mrs Marco gets to see her brother ....... perfect !No man is an island, but Barry is

Makes total sense Bluebird and that's what we did a few years back. Actually stopped on the way home.
However she lost contact with him for some time and they've only just got back in contact with each other. Problem is we've already booked our return tickets for end of March.
