Approval Of Third Runway At Heathrow

Secretary of State for Transport, Chris Grayling said he's "delighted" ... and was expected to make an announcement early this afternoon.

Predictably though ... ... NOT ALL Parliamentarians are "over the moon" about the long~awaited decision.

Any other first world country this would have been done and dusted 20 years ago. Pathetic.

... they ... I should imagine ... are the ones currently living in the vicinity of the proposed flight path, most probably!

They should have bought up that village 50 years ago, when it was worth a hundredth of the price... and before all those moaning people moved in, knowing full well it was next to one of the busiest airports in the world...even then.

Most of the properties around there are rentals, landlords will get a good price and move on. A few residents are rightly pi55ed off, but they must have known deep down that it was a losing battle. Plus the church won't be demolished apparently, not sure how people will access it until we see the plans.

The one big change will be that there will be less places for Uber drivers to park in their black E220 Diesels while waiting for a punter to tag them.

Yes, that's probably the biggest irritation for residents, as in so many places.... the pillocks parked outside their house !

The announcement seemed poised to strengthen the pound a little .........until that bloke at BoE chipped in about limits on monetary policy
So back to the slide it was for a while.
