I just can't understand why someone would need to present a CENOMAR (which stands for Certificate of No Marriage) if the parents were married at the time of the child's conception??? Don't they understand what cenomar is for??? It is only needed or presented as a proof that someone IS single and not married. For a married person, obviously the marriage cert is the only proof!

Rayna, it is surely NOT necessary. None of the forms state it is necessary. I am only covering every base, you know what they are like here. Novie's case messed up for sure, someone's head needs to roll for that. But I am just catering for stupidity and a jobsworth.

i have explained that to them many times especially to the examiner but she insisted that it is needed. i even rang the phil embassy to see if they can vouch for my word but the philippine embassy cant do them sort of things.
i even told the examineer that the CENOMAR word stands for itself, it is for single people she then said we have to know your previous marriage because philippines dont do divorce. i said what is it got to do with my sons application?
it is actually like u are talking to the wall with them. its beyond me!

i have a friend she has a baby girl with his fiancee now but she was previously married to a filipino. the daddy applied in the embassy in manila i think and the baby now has passport. my friend said they asked for cenomar and we supplied documents that proves that the annulment is going on. but hey ho baby was born in the philippines straightt away passport given and then ethan was born here they delayed it as much as they can because of a silly stupid idea of the examineer that a cenomar is needed,

Great news Novie, I am pleased for you all.
Next step, make a formal complaint again and follow up with your MP. The least they can do is refund your fee for stress caused and the worry of not making your travel. If you want your dreams to come true ...... first you have to wake up

Such wonderful news, at last Novie.
I'm so happy for you. I was starting to think it would never unravel.
I agree with others, please do make an official complaint and seek out the reasons for the huge delay and also why demands were made for a CENOMAR which is a Filipino only document.
Happy days here again.
Well done

Congrats on your good news !
Happy days again.
I checked online 'tracking' progress on our baby boy's application today. It came back, 'declaration received and being processed'. So at least that's a start, knowing that they've got the stuff I sent.

That's good news Graham.
Today my wife took our pack of papers to LBC in Cabanatuan to send off. The woman at LBC wouldn't send it because there was no name as the recipient and no phone number. I told my wife how can the woman be so daft. I said it is going to a government department. Then I said, ok, tell the woman that it is addressed to Her Majesty the Queen at her passport office, is that ok for her? As for the phone number, of course there is no number shown on any part of the form, so I just plucked a general HMPO number off the Gov.uk website.

Someone I know has had the same experience as Novie but told me it's normal procedure if the wife is on FLR, proof of the Cenomar they took (previous to their wedding in Philippines) was required and it was spot on 16 weeks via Liverpool/Bangkok. They also booked a flight and no refund!

I put the CRS5 (NSO no record of marriage) document in with the application for my son's passport, as that is now what is required for 'overseas' applications.
