It's always a potential problem, but if you are always aware of phishing scam emails then you can mostly be quite safe.

Don't know anything about computers really, the only thing I do on my computer is this Forum and my UK and Philippine banks and every time I've used the computer I delete everything by going in Control Panel/Internet options have done it for many years, when I do a full scan even though I've only got a couple of things on the computer it takes three hours to scan and shows over half a million items have been scanned so I assume it's the wife's photo's on her F/B in her phone.

I always have to remind my parents that all he emails from PayPal, the bank, Microsoft and a few others I could mention are probably scams. Asking for you to log in and update your information, all phishing scams. Always check the origination of the emails, you normally see right off the bat that they are wrong.

Thank you, Michael and Steve, for your respective replies. ... if this particular post creates the impression I'm a grumpy ... it's just a bit frustrating ... when one puts a lot of time~consuming research into finding material that one hopes will attract sufficient interest for members - and, in turn, ensure the forum keeps "ticking over" during quiet spells - only to discover one's time and effort appear to have been wasted.

Its having the time to respond Arthur,
I do enjoy all you write and sometimes i have nothing to add to your Thread, nothing is ever wasted if you have enjoyed doing it,
There are a regular few who post more then others and maybe to others its a load of crap, but it dont stop me making a nuisance of myself sometimesLast edited by Arthur Little; 26th June 2016 at 14:29.
