Work & Pensions Secretary, Iain Duncan Smith, Resigns

... denouncing the planned £4bn of cuts to disability allowances as a 'step too far' and utterly "indefensible".

Can't say I blame him, ... because, apart from the Chancellor's swingeing proposals in last Wednesday's Budget, the DWP itself is - in my experience - a most difficult Department to contact ... since its offices are, for the most part, inaccessible to members of the public and its (0345) system, a nightmare to negotiate, as I've found in the past ... to my literal cost!

Luckily ... ... when I'd occasion to transfer my State Pension from one account to another, recently, I was able to prevail upon the services of a personal banking advisor to conduct the transaction on my behalf, on the pretext of my being hard of hearing. Phew!

My, thus far, limited experience with DWP has been abysmal and completely unhelpful.
    What a shame

As usual, us peasants are the only ones having to tighten our belts.

Nothing new in that.... from Labour millionaire or Tory millionaire led government and their cronies.

A good thing we don't ALL use their clever accountants to massage our income figures.

They'd have hardly any income taxes to spend.
