Icon Hotel Macapagal, Manila Bay, Philippines
http://www.agoda.com/en-gb/icon-hotel-macapagal/hotel/manila-ph.html
I haven't stayed at the Icon Hotel in Macapagal, but myself and the wife passed it often enough. It is very convenient for MOA and the casino, as well a being relatively close to the airport.
This is a budget hotel, but it is not that old. Parking is free, so is the WiFi and breakfast. Prices start at only £16, and £19 for a room with a Jacuzzi!
Now the reviews do mention that phone signals and WiFi can be a problem, but that is the norm in most hotels, especially the WiFi. The latter is also dependent on the time it is used, as during 8pm to 11pm it will be very slow. The rooms are small, although this is normal for new build hotels in Manila these days. For a bigger room, pay the £25 for the Suite 2 with two double beds. That is exactly what we do when we stay in Microtel.
This hotel is in the middle of nowhere, and people have complained about the lack of taxi's. However, a 5-10 minute walk gets you to Roxas Boulevard or the Casino, and it is easy to get a ride there.
We'll give this hotel a go on our next visit for a few days, before moving on to Cavite.Keith Driscoll - Administrator
