Lightbulb EEA FAMILY PERMIT for mother in law

    hi everyone! Happy New Year!!!

I need your advice please or suggestion about our situation..

Me and wifey, we are planning to get her mom from Cebu Philippines to UK. I am an Austrian citizen been working here in UK for 13 yrs and my wife first got an EEA family permit for 6 months then currently have EEA residence permit for 5 yrs (2018) . Do you think we can apply same thing for her mom? If not, what visa do you think is applicable for her? We really need her mom soon around May time as my wife's due date is coming soon..

Any advice will be highly appreciated! Thank you everyone!!

All the best for new year 2016!!

Yes, the Family Permit can also apply to direct relatives in the ascending line of the EEA-national or their spouse.

The family member (your wife's mother) needs to be dependant however.
In terms of Financial dependence it means your MIL needs the financial support of the either you or your wife to meet their essential needs rather than to have a certain income level.

    Food for thought.
Although as you know the FP doesn't cost anything and has a quick decision time so worth making application if you can develop a strategy that stands up to scutiny.
