Hi Everybody
Does my wife who works and pays tax and insurance have to pay the health surcharge? I would appreciate any info on this. As its new to me. Any help would be appreciated.

if you are applying for FLR then yes, if she is working or not. If you are applying for ILR then the answer is No.

Many many thanks. I don't know if have worked it out correctly. For an average FLR Surcharge it's around £500 would this be correct. I aiming this at members recently applying for their FLR would this be accurate?

Hi Sheldon,
It's more like £600
But your best best is to follow this gov.uk calculator:-

It's FLR she applying for. There is a drop down box that you have to click on. Maybe you could look Terpe clarify? It looks simple enough and I believe I am doing this correctly? But I am getting £100 Maybe everyone is different . There is a couple of FLR options though and I have tried every single one? Can I clarify this is FLR not ILR? cheekee can you confirm what was yours?

On the visa route question, choose "Further Leave to Remain - FLR". On the visa type, choose "Marriage - FLR(M)".

We just went through the FlR process and the fee is £500 and it is set at that.
You go on to the health surcharge site and put in your details, i.e.. FLR and the cost will come up as £500, this will be for the next 30 months but you will get 33 months to play with. Once you have paid the £500 you will get a reference number. When you fill out the FLR form there is a session asking for your health surcharge number. There is no set month to start or finish, just pay the £500 and it will cover all the FLR no matter if it starts a few months later.
We paid it in June when i was filling out the form and the wife's FLR started on the 16th Sep.
