And not only in England - as mentioned specifically in this article - but up here in Scotland, also... where things are no better.
How often do we hear of old bodies forced into selling the houses they've lived in for anything up to 50 years or more, in order to be able to afford the cost of residential care ... because they're no longer physically or mentally capable of looking after themselves?
Far too often, I'm afraid.
