    Exclamation Child settlement

    Hello,
I'm confused about health surcharge. Do I need to pay this aswell for my child's settlement? I'm already a British citizen and under the old rules. Can my husband sponsor my children?
    Thanks xx

Hmm, ... good *question! And I appreciate *its logic ... given that you're already settled under the 'Old Rules' and have since become a British citizen.

But due to your son - or daughter - being a new entrant he/she will be applying under the Updated Rules ... which, in turn, suggests to me, that his/her sponsor may well be liable for the health surcharge on your child's behalf. Of course ... ... I could (hopefully) prove to be wrong.

However, I'm [fairly] sure it'll be perfectly in order for your husband to act as sponsor without any problem(s).

Since you are both British Citizen your child should be granted ILE (Indefinite Leave to Enter)

So Technically the surcharge isn't required BUT you'll need confirmation from the surcharge payment service people.
They'll tell you about any exemption and give you a ref number.
Applications without an authorised reference number will not be accepted.
Sometimes it happens that payment needs to made the refunded later

Here's the link you need to follow:-
