    Hair rebonding - straightening

    Hi,
My little annierose has been here a while now and is desperate to get her hair straightened - by the hair rebonding/japanese straightening process.
I see the warnings posted but it is the only way she likes the hair done. Otherwise the hair is as wild as she is..!

Can someone advise where it can be done in the south? Brighton to London?
I saw a post for somewhere in Earls court.

    cheers

May I respectfully suggest your partner [or daughter] consults a specialist hairdresser in your specified locality for reputable advice ... as Filipina Roses is a site that concentrates its efforts - first and foremost - on the bonding of *British/Filipino relationships, thereby providing assistance with visa issues to *such couples wishing to set up home here in the UK.

No problem ... you're ! And I'm pleased to observe one of our Respected Members has, in turn, recommended somewhere you might like to consider - which should help to narrow your search.

Have a look online for hairdressers doing special offers in the area, sometimes you can get half price. Also, look at local colleges, they do reduced rates for trainees. Under supervision of course.

Part of the problem is trying to explain exactly what you want, and then the hairdressers don't seem to be able to cope with her hair type! In this multicultural age you think they would have seen it all by now.. when girls talk of "frizz" its usually because they used the wrong sort of water.. little annies frizz grows like the wicked witch of the west.. I think its fun but she's a girl and doesn't like it..

Rebonding in the Philippines is very common.
Every hairdresser knows exactly how to manage Asian / Filipina hair type.
    In UK not so.
My wife had many problems and it cost her dearly both financially and physcological
Be sure about the capability of the person you use.

Yep, that's the normal price here. That's why I'm just doing hair colour with cuts whenever I get the discounts from the sites I've mentioned above. Not worth having hair rebond/straightrning if I won't be able to maintain it because it's expensive.

Hair "rebonding" is known as Chemical Straightening here in the UK so you may have a bit more luck in being understood if you use this term It's bound to be expensive though as it's a specialist service and not one that is widely used here, particularly as western hair is of a different texture/ strength and can be badly affected through the use of chemicals.

I hope that you find what you are looking for, if not, investing in a good pair of hair straighteners (irons) might be the answer. GHD straighteners are very popular here but I find the FHI Heat straighteners are not only cheaper, but better too (as recommended by my own hairdresser). Both available on-line from reputable websites, but watch out for fakes on sites like ebay
