Cameron Praises Then Tries To Rob A Disabled Man
http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/...ool-fc-9920761
I like this bit:
A DWP spokesman said: “We’ve provided councils with £500m because we know there are situations like these where people may need extra support and local councils are in the best position to make that decision."
Erm.... The bedroom tax was supposed to save the government £600M
So they are now giving back £500M ... less millions in admin charges, court cases, appeals!

Funny you should say that, as local councils have to abide by the rules set in place by the DWP before handing money out. Who runs the council is irrelevant to how the funds are distributed, as seen where I live, as plenty of disabled people are struggling.
It is a sad world when a severely disabled person, whoever they are, and wherever they live, has to go through the courts to get what is due to them when using common sense.Keith Driscoll - Administrator

As with so many things these days...the unscrupulous and downright dishonest scumbags spoil it for the genuinely needy, which helps drain the system of cash and causes knee-jerk reactions by government departments.

I agree Keith disabled and those who need funds should be looked after, that's what a modern caring society should do but there is no doubt in my mind even in an affluent town like mine so much is being wasted on the don't want to work brigade. The Chavs who wander round town all day high as a kite or half pissed. Not to mention the fit and able 16 year old girls who plop out kids for fun to enable to get everything free.See them everyday there are lots of them and that money could be spent on those who need it,not on the ones who choose a lazy lifestyle and expect and get it handed to them on a plate

I've known a lot of alcky's and smackheads on the sick over the last 30 years, none of them should have been on it.... but it's an 'illness' . Knowing all of them, it was a lifestyle choice , which they admitted.
Some folk think that disabled people should be lying in bed and slobbering and incapable of doing anything, that is not the case, hence the Paralympics. The problem is, the huge grey area that disabilities cover when it comes to what a person can and cannot do. Steven Hawking does well for himself, but does that mean that everyone in his position is capable of work? Yes and no.Keith Driscoll - Administrator

We need to make it clear to the lazy gits who claim everything they can that it will stop.i notice all these bloody chavs have fags, weed and tattoos. The women are usually fat slags, all claiming money that should go elsewhere.I'm all for helping people who have fallen on hard times and of course the disabled.Imagine the money available if we stopped giving free money to workshy leeches! There would be more than enough to help people who need it.

Not really Graham. It's quite expensive.
If it's key than I just have to but the bullet and stump up.
I can't understand why email, fax or my UK correspondence address isn't acceptable and so far I've had no reasons given.
For example, if they would send critical documents to my corres address, I can access electronically print out the scanned docs, complete and sign them and return via registered or courier post. Simples
They just don't seem to get it yet so far.

I agree Peter...often there seems no rhyme or reason to some of these procedures and requirements.
Perhaps all heads of departments haven't yet dragged themselves into the 21st century.
Consider how useful some of this modern technology could be...even Skype, for instance...plus a little common sense.
