I have to say ... I'm rather and disappointed a nice story like this - with such a happy ending - received only one response, given all the many tales of woe we've grown so accustomed to reading in today's media.

Dogs can be very much in touch with their human partners,
When its thundering out my dog comes up to me with a troubled expression and seems to talk about it.

Ah ... there used to be a radio programme before the early morning weather forecast and the 8 o'clock news; this was away back in my teenage years, and it served as the cue for me leaving the house to catch my bus into Perth for work.

'Pause for Thought'.

! So it sprang into my mind again when I first spotted this story about the heroic *dog ... and, appropriately, I changed the first word to suit the *context.

Hence "paws"!!
