Catholic do gooders send supplies to Calais "migrants"

Parish churches are collecting and delivering clothes, toiletries and blankets for the migrants in Calais shantytown known as the "jungle".

Disgraceful - I hope these misguided fools are mugged and robbed by illegal immigrants

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.

I'm sure Israel will welcome all the muslims amongst them with open arms.

Returning for a moment to the topic under discussion ... I think it's fair to point out that there are two ways of looking at this:

On the one hand, Churches - of all organisations - are (or should be) motivated by a sense of Christian obligation to re-enact the parable of 'The Good Samaritan' in alleviating the discomfort of those in distress ... hence their donations of clothing, blankets and toiletries, based on the principle that if they didn't rally round ... ... who else would?

On the other hand, in so doing, they are misguidedly sending out the wrong message to hordes of people with "an eye to the main chance", and for whom there's simply no room here ... people who, in the prevailing circumstances, will merely continue to take advantage of the situation.
