Phone and Fibre Broadband
I've been looking to kick Sky Broadband (non Fibre ie ADSL) into touch for a while - I'm only with them because they took over o2 Broadband and gave me a 12 month deal of £6.50 which has now run out and they've upped to £12.50.
Just signed up with 38mb Fibre plus phone line with PlusNet - tempted by a whopping £82.50 cashback from TopCashBack (deal runs out tomorrow 3 May http://www.topcashback.co.uk/plusnet_broadband/)
After the cashback is deducted the 18 month contract works out at £19.42 per month.
I'll get brownie points from Mrs D as it will improve the TFC streaming quality

Fibre is coming to my village in September. It's currently 3 miles away. I still get 6mbps though on normal broadband, which is really good for living out in sheepland.

I'm getting up to 7 mega wotsits on my Post Office ASDL. I'm also in the middle of nowhere, so could be worse (15 quid a month for line rental and landline phone, incl vat, for the first 12 months).

I don't want the TV and 38mb will do us fine at less than £20, also Virgins cabinets are as thin as a beer can and can often be seen with the door hanging off revealing the birds nest of wires inside - it then only takes one yobbo................

I had Virgin cable for 7 years and their speed never came remotely near their silly quoted figures (complete with getout clauses).

I have EE fibre advertised at 38 meg and I do get at least 36 meg as they are using BT lines like sky which can handle up to 76 meg so getting their advertised speed is pretty much a given as long as u are not too far from the green cabinet as the connection to your house unlike Virgins is still the old copper wire.

I get between 0.5 Mbps and 1 Mbps depending on the time of day
Costs me P1040
I'll find something better one of these days, when I find time.
