    Farmers Market in the Philippines

I wonder where they got the spuds from?

Was wondering if it was Baguio as it has the colder climate for growing spuds. Strawberries are grown there too.

    Yes definitely.
When I lived in Angeles I used to buy beautiful spuds every week from the market...not too dear either. It meant I could cook almost like back home. Proper chips, mash etc, instead of being forced to live on rice and noodles.

I love rice but I don't think I could eat it every day. I've never been very fond of potatoes unless they're roasted or made into chips. The texture and blandness of them makes me heave so boiled potatoes for instance have to be covered in gravy to make them palatable.

I came close to opening a chippy in Angeles.

Catering is quite profitable if run properly. I also planned for my menu to appeal to the locals though. Stupid to ignore their business.

That's why a restaurant/chippy was incorporated into the place I designed myself, using a CAD programme, then had built...before the ex started to cheat.

Fish and chips for dinner tonight
    Proper malt vinegar too

    Potatoes are readily available everywhere.
The ones we buy here are wonderfully tasty and also make perfect chips. They're organically grown locally.

I preferred your floating nightclub idea

I always crave what's difficult to get.
Would have loved some mushy peas too

We're very lucky to have a couple of large 'farmers markets' close by us as well as numerous small independents too.

Actually its not really a local farmers market as such as the produce comes from Mindanao farms..
The big spuds make great chips BTW..Also good roasted for Sunday lunch.
The market is next to ICM. (shopping mall)
