    Lick yer plate

I love to get the plate clean if I have enjoyed my food, and when I am at home I do lick my plate.

If we are out, I will make sure I have some bread to soak up any juices that I cannot get up using a fork too.

But my Ems, well, she leaves that much on her plate I just can't believe it. Even when she empties a tin of say beans, there is a spoonful still in the bottom. I will wash it out to get everything out.

Maybe it was my way of growing up, never to waste anything. And yes, we did not have much, but surely my Ems did not have much either.

Hey ho, it gives me an extra lick when I take the plates to the washer!

I used to lick my plate as a kid, but that was because there never seemed enough food. On the odd occasion nowadays, in a restaurant where I have had a really nice curry or the plate is swimming in juices or gravy, I always think if I were still a kid I would lick that cleaner than a dishwasher!

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I personally find licking plates revolting.

Both me and my wife were brought up to never waste any food and to eat everything on the plate.

I can't remember ever licking the plate clean, but we always had some bread on the table that we could use to clear the last remnants. We considered it part of the meal.

Sorry, I'm in the 'no way' camp, almost as bad as talking with your mouth full

I can't abide chatting with a full mouth or eating with your mouth open. I don't want to see what your masticating, and smacking your teeth, yuukkkkssssss! But I couldn't resist licking my plate as a kid, I was hungry

Sorry but licking plates to me is like what dogs do..so no licking plates for me. Although I always try to finish everything on my plate. It's not hard to do though if I like the food. But trust me not to finish something I don't like.
