Kalibo airport to be temporarily closed
The operation of Kalibo International Airport (KIA), a main gateway to Central Philippines' world-famous resort of Boracay Island, will be temporarily closed on March 3, local authorities said today.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAAP) of the Philippines, there will be asphalting of taxiway beginning at 3:00 a.m. local time and finishing at 9:00 a.m. local time.
"We have already issued Notice to Airmen regarding to the temporary closure. I am sure they had already spread out the word, " said Martin Terre, newly appointed CAAP manager at KIA.
The CAAP-Kalibo however does not have numbers of the international and domestic flights including that will be affected.
