    Lightbulb Singapore Changi Airport

Received this e-mail the other day

    Dear Terpe,

Changes to inter-terminal transfers between T2 & T3 Transit Areas at Singapore Changi Airport

We would like to inform you that due to redevelopment works at Singapore Changi Airport, the Skytrain service connecting Terminal 2 (E Gates) and Terminal 3 (B Gates) within the airport's transit areas will cease operations from Tuesday, 24 February 2015 onwards. Please note that the other Skytrain service connecting the transit areas of Terminal 2 (F Gates) and Terminal 3 (A Gates) will continue to remain in service.

For passengers transferring between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3, you may take the new shuttle bus service located at the North Bus Station just before Arrival Immigration. The shuttle bus will operate between the two terminals daily, between 5.00am and 2.30am the next day. Please look out for airport signs indicating "Shuttle Bus to T2 (E Gates)" or "Shuttle Bus to T3 (B Gates)".

If you are connecting to another flight at Changi Airport, you may proceed upon arrival to the nearest Transfer Lounge for information on the boarding gate of your next flight. You may also wish to note that the Skytrain lines connecting the other terminals will not be affected.

For more information, please visit http://www.changiairport.com/getting...minal-transfer.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused, and look forward to welcoming you on board your next flight with Singapore Airlines.

I was disgusted with Hong Kong, first time I've used the new airport, the aircon was freezing and we were shivering for the ten hours we were in the airport and, of course, we only had the clothes we used in Philippines. I will mention too the food prices were high and everything was in Cantonese, so we had no idea what we were buying. I did buy a small bottle of Mango Juice and a small bottle of water and it was over £4. Couldn't believe it! I will say, in Singapore and Doha they have climate control, so one always feels comfortable!

Hong Kong was my home airport. I have a lot of affection for it, but I always preferred the old Kai Tak for character. The new one's ok, but I think the new Suvarnabhumi in Bangkok is incredibly user-friendly, well signposted, everything is there. You want to go to Pattaya or Cambodia, then get a free shuttle downstairs to the bus station literally 10 minutes away. NAIA 3 should have been similarly well-designed, it may just have attracted extra tourists into the country. You only get one chance to make a first impression!

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.

Actually downstairs in Bangkok Airport is a clean, functioning, efficient train system that whisks you into Central Bangkok. It's just a nice place to land after a 12-hour flight. There's a programme about it on TV at the moment. It would be interesting to see a programme on NAIA3 Especially if they filmed part of it in the Cebu Pacific offices.

Your local on Siquijor, the airport at Cang Alwang was supposed to be opening. I saw a schedule for flights 6 or 7 years ago from Dumaguete. It was going to be fast-tracked to open due to the rise in visitors to Siquijor, but nothing ever came of it. The last time I went to it, kids were racing on it with their motorbikes.

Did you ever hear any news on it opening when you lived there Michael?

I think if a documentary were made at NAIA3 for Western TV, Sharon Cuneta and Miss Aquino would get jobs as trolley dollies. They are on every single programme and product on Pinoy TV, so I can't see them missing the chance to go global.

Nah, no one ever mentions it, although it would be a good idea for light aircraft to operate a shuttle between Cebu, Dumaguete and Bohol in order to give easy access to the various hospitals. The ferries often have days that they cannot operate!

Yes, I have been stuck in Larena on a few occasions when the boats couldn't cross to DGTE. Some Siquijodnon Governor chatted about opening the airport as a matter of priority, but as with most things, it never came to be. Just election rhetoric!

Apparently Mid-Sea Express were flying to Siquijor in 2011. They've since ceased trading under this name.

I have been looking for a decent Microlight Club in Pinas. All I can find is the Angeles one which has very old fixed-wing ultralights. My training has been on flex-wing modern. There are a few new Quiks being shipped to Pinas but I can't find where they are hangared. I always think a decent microlight would be the ultimate island hopper - especially the Italian model that lands on water. There was one for sale recently.
