The stork has taken off
After going to bed at 11.30pm Friday night, I was woken by Harlene shouting for me from the bathroom.... She thought her waters had broken. So a quick call to the hospital at 3am where they told me to come on down.
seems it wasn't those waters that had broken, but someother sort (dont ask me!)
Anyway, around 9 hours of observations later and they started to induce labour with medicines and things that I cant even spell, let alone pronounce!
So 19 or so hours after arriving at the maternity ward, we are still waiting..... Looks like for a while yet too...
3 hours sleep in 40 hours is not very good for you either lol

C section in the end at 7.57AM as baby was just to big for small mummy and was stuck. Not really surprising when she popped out at 10lb 12oz!!!

She was actually more closer to 11pounds. But she kept moving on the scales, so they settled at the weight that stayed for the longest, lol.

She had Gestational diabetes! Was only picked up here, not in Philippines... So had a very strict diet and had to take blood sugars three times a day for the past 6 weeks.
Seems the hospital messed up the babies birth weight.... Had a home visit from the midwife yesterday and she questioned the babies recorded weight... She weighed the baby and baby weighed 3.9KG. So she said somehow it seems the hospital put about a kilo onto the babies weight! So the baby was probably only 8lb 5oz at birth, but we will never know now!

It's Friday evening, I'm in a mellow mood, and I'm happy for you both. Remember that the first two years are the hardest, just keep on going. Our Rachel is four and a half now and, instead of changing nappies, it's "daddy, daddy, read this book!" I've come up with a piece of wise philosophy: Crying doesn't do much harm to a baby; listening to it doesn't do much harm to an adult.
