    Learning a new language is interesting, especially when you are travelling to a different place whom residents there do not speak the same dialect as you. Over the years, the Philippines has become one of the places in Asia that tourists from other countries often visit. With the country’s famous slogan, “It’s more fun in the Philippines”, tourists are enticed and are more curious what the Philippines has to offer for them tourists.

    Moreover, if one is interested to spend a vacation in this country, might as well learn common Tagalog Phrases a tourist to the Philippines should learn. These common Tagalog phrases are beneficial mainly because, plenty of Filipinos do not know how to speak the tourist’s native language. Hence, it could lead to a lot of misunderstandings.

    Basic Interrogative Sentences

    Do you have ten pesos? – Mayroon ka bang. sampung piso?
    May I borrow one hundred pesos from you? – Maari ba akong humiram ng isang daan sa iyo?
    One peso – isang piso.................................. 100 pesos- isangdaang piso
    Two pesos – dalawang piso........................ 500 pesos – limangdang piso
    Three pesos – tatlong piso.......................... 1000 pesos – isang libong piso
    Four pesos – apat na piso
    Five pesos – limang piso
    Six pesos – anim na piso
    Seven pesos – pitong piso
    Eight pesos – walongpiso

    These are the some of the common Tagalog Phrases tourists should learn. Though it is enough to say that the phrases above are sufficient to help tourists get around the city, there are other tourists who are really interested to learn more and thus, they become fluent in the Tagalog language over time.
