Family visiting visa - supporting documents (bank statements)

Hi, My wife is in the process of applying for a Family Visit Visa and we were wondering if someone can help us concerning supporting documents. I need to send my wife some bank statements and was under the impression that they want original copies. However, I do not get paper statements any more, just online statements. Will it be possible to send my statements electronically to my wife and for her to print them off for the application? If this is not possible I suppose I will have to go to the bank and see if they can supply some statements which seems like a lot of hassle. Anyhow, if someone out there can help me on this issue it will be much appreciated.

    Thanks, Benie

It's better to minimise any risks or delays when applying for a visa.

Annex 1.7 FM - 3.3.4 - FINANCIAL REQUIREMENT DOCUMENT STRICTLY STATES THAT BANK STATEMENTS AND ONLINE STATEMENTS CAN BE ACCEPTED IF:

Bank statements must be on official bank stationery. Alternatively electronic bank statements can also be accepted for all bank accounts (the account itself does not have to be exclusively online) as long as they are either accompanied by a letter from the bank on its headed stationery confirming that the documents are authentic or which bear the official stamp of the issuing bank on every page.

Hi, I've been searching on this. I understand bank statements must be dated no more than 28days before application.

    Is that so?

Also, if you are self-employed I know on the I.R tax declaration (SA 302) it's for past years. If supplying that, do you need to send the business bank account details for the previous 6 months as well as personal account details?

    Anybody have experience on this?

The most recent bank statement should be dated within the last 28 days when you submit your application.

    Hi Timi

You need evidence of the amount of tax payable, tax paid and tax unpaid for the full financial year being relied on.
Basically a copy of your self-assessment tax return and your statement of account (SA302)

Your UTR needs to be clearly documented.
You'll need to submit your personal bank statements for the same 12-month period as your submitted tax return showing income from your self-employment paid into your account.

Yes, if you have a separate business bank account you'll need to submit bank statements.
Again for the same 12-month period as the other documents.

Do note that the above is mandatory to comply with the Financial Requirement for Visa leading to settlement.

It's not a mandatory requirement for Family Visit which is the subject of this thread.

Hi, thankyou. This clears up what I need.

Could there be a major problem as I mentioned in my other reply that my business account is in overdraft?

And long term, I wish my fiancée to be able to return to the UK every year after marriage, so reading posts here on the forum we need to go for a visa leading to settlement?

    Thankyou all for your guidance

    Doesn't matter.
The only important criteria is meeting the income threshold.

For self-employed that means personal Taxable Income.
