    Hello there!

I am currently living in Newport, Wales. I came here September (last month) under a fiancee visa and hopefully will get married in November this year. I just have a few questions regarding my visa as I found it a bit confusing. After we get married do we have to apply a Spouse Vsa for me or the so-called FLR (Further Leave to Remain)?

I believe some of you here have done the same thing so I want to seek advice from you because I need to do this before my fiancée visa will expire in February.

Thank you so much hope to hearing from you. God bless everyone!

    Hello Shei,
    Welcome aboard Filipino UK

    And welcome to UK

Yes, as soon as you are married you should apply for your FLR(M)

You don't need to wait. Apply right after the marriage.

The FLR(M) will give further leave to remain for 30 months

Take a look at the form here

and the FLR(M) Guidance Notes here

Hi everybody, I`m Roger from Gloucester UK. My fiancee in the Philippines was refused entry to UK. Therefore I want to go there and live with her and eventually marry. I want to spend the rest of my life with her in the Philippines. I have spoken to the Visa Office in the Philippine Embassy in London but I could nor make head nor tale of the response. Can anyone tell me ,which is the best visa to apply for so that I can eventually reside there permanently. ( I am retired ) Thaankyou in anticipation.

    Phil retirement visa

    Roger, it is very complicated.

For a retirement visa you have to place a minimum deposit in approved banks amongst other things.

You are better off not bothering.

After marrying you shoudl have your honeymoon in another nearby country then re-enter with your wife. This will entitle you to a 364 day visa.

You need to repeat thsi every 364 days or less, but a weekend in HK or other place nearby once a year needn't be a chore!

That's what I will do if we do retire there.

Best wishes tou you and your bride!

    Roy

Best wishes for your life in my hometown!

If you are marrying a British Citizen you should apply for FLR.

I came on this forum to see if anyone in newport would have the Pacquiao v Mayweather on because I'm visiting relatives that weekend but don't want to miss it. If you know anyone do let me know :-)
