    Ched Evans Rape Case

I do wish people would stop saying that he should have a career now that he has served his time. HE HAS NOT SERVED HIS TIME

His sentence is FIVE YEARS. At the moment his has early release with parole. He still has 2.5 years to go of his sentence.

As far as I am concerned, during that remaining time, he should only be doing football work for free, such as teaching kids.

A lowlife like Evans shouldn't be teaching kids anything and anyhow I don't think parents would be too happy for their children to be in the company of a convicted rapist.

Why on earth has the scumbag been released.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I though that early release was granted partly because the person convicted has in some way acknowledged their wrongdoing and the system feels they are no longer a danger. This piece of shiite is still protesting his innocence so he should still be banged up and be giving football lessons to his fellow rapists and paedos.

What message does this send out to potential rapists ?

It's not that long ago that rape was a capital offence in some countries (e.g. the Philippines).

I wonder what the action will be following the criminal case review.

I know he was convicted but he has always maintained he was innocent. I know that does not prove anything, but I can think of 'some/lots' of cases which have been overturned on appeal. This may be one such case.

How come he's waited 2.5 years to have the case reviews? And now it is being fast tracked for some reason, why has he jumped to the front of the queue?

    Leave to Appeal

After Ched’s conviction it was immediately decided to appeal the decision of the court and the process is thus:-

Ched’s defence team had 28 days to lodge the appeal from date of conviction and this goes before a single judge who is selected randomly. He can then reach one of three decisions, give it the green light to proceed, reject it (he cannot stop it proceeding) or reject it with a warning that if it proceeds it could be treated as a frivolous appeal and the time served added back to the original sentence, he did not choose this last option.

Ched’s leave to appeal was heard at the Royal Courts of Justice on 6 November 2012. The panel of 3 judges did not grant leave to appeal.

On behalf of Ched we continue to explore new avenues to appeal this wrongful conviction.

So much for showing remorse to get early release! When did the UK drop that requirement?

As you will maybe be aware I know that many guilty people get off but one must accept that some not guilty get convicted. Most jury decisions are based on their silly misunderstanding of the case, and rarely reflect 'justice'.

Well I agree rape is a horror offence for any woman, but when you look at this case a little closer with the CCTV from the hotel, booking in etc., what did the woman think was going to happen have a game of tiddly winks? I think she may have cried fowl after the episode for some reason. Some men do get accused by women falsely too. Drink seems to play a big part in these crimes. I will wait until the review before I judge him. At any rate, he has to carry around the stigma for the rest of his days.
