    Visitors visa

    Hi all,
Is there anyone here who invited their parents on a visitors visa?
I am planning to invite my Mum over for Christmas and would like her to stay with us for 6 months. I checked the home office website for the requirements/documents needed for the application. One thing confuses me.
My Mum is 78 years of age, does she need to take the English test as part of her requirement towards the application?
I hope someone will enlighten my confused mind. Lol
Thank you very much in advance for the help

    Hi there Einna,

There's no need for any English Language test at all so put that concern right out of your mind.

Have you so far reviewed this useful UK Government webpage called Family Visitor visa
    It may be helpful.

I'd kindly suggest you search here in the forum for the important things you'll need to consider.

Good luck and don't be shy to ask anything that you need help with

Hi Einna welcome to the forum
Please check the link from Terpe on post #2 for requirements and documents to provide
    In addition to that:
Write a good covering/sponsor letter(highlighting the purpose of your Mum's visit to the UK).
NO English and TB test if your Mum is just visiting for 6months.
You as a sponsor can apply a visa for her and pay for it online and then she can submit it to the VFS Philippines with all the appropriate documents.
I also recommend to book a VIP appointment at the VFS.
Visa is good for 6months from the date it is issued.

    Good luck.
