Hi, just joined today. Looking for help and guidance for getting married in the Phillipines and bringing my wife back to England via Spouse Visa

Welcome Shaun, you're in the right place.

If you browse some of the older posts you will find plenty of advice from others, including myself, who have done the same.

The first step in getting married in the Philippines is to obtain a document here from a Registry Office that says there is no reason why you can't marry. You need to take this to the Philippine Embassy in Manilla. There are probably up to date details of this somewhere on the forum as i did mine over 5 years ago. You will need to apply for this at least a month before you need it.

Getting married in the Philippines (remember no divorce possible) and bringing your wife here is just the first steps of a long and costly immigration journey. First you wife will need to apply for a visa and hopefully once granted your wife will need to apply for a CFO sticker and certificate to leave the country as well as english tests. When she finally gets to the UK, it's more hoops to jump through to get ILR and then eventually Citizenship and a British passport.

Just take one step at a time and with the help of this forum you will be there in no time.

Oh, this may help you to book an appointment for the affidavit/affirmation

1. Visit the British Embassy Manila online appointment system

2. Select the service you require.

3. Select the date from the calendar (available days are shaded in green) or click on “next available” and then select a time.

4. To register as a new user, enter your details (name, e-mail address and telephone number) on “New Customer Registration Form.” You only need to register once. For future appointments, use “Customer sign-in” and enter your email address, and the password you used when registering for the first time.

5. Once your appointment has been booked, a confirmation email will be sent to your e-mail address with an event calendar attachment to save the date on your outlook calendar or on your mobile phone (the latter will apply if you open the booking confirmation email on your mobile).

6. Should you need to cancel your appointment, you can sign in and follow the link “cancel appointment.”

You have to attend the Embassy personally with the required affidavit or affirmation to marry.

You can't book an appointment on the Embassy website at the moment for the affidavit to marry.

Clickbook is not working.

I tried many times last week. I called the Embassy to clarify.

I had to email the Embassy instead.

Send an email with your required date and enclose travel itinerary to prove you are visiting.

The CENOMAR can be ordered online, or ask your fiancee to apply for you with a consent letter from you and a copy of your ID.

The CENOMAR is not not required by the British Embassy.

The CENOMAR is the Philippine equivalent of CNI.

It's an indication that there is no previously recorded marriage within the Philippines.

However, many authorities are now requesting the foreign party to secure one in order to apply for a marriage licence.

My girlfriend is going to obtain our CENOMARS from NSO in person.

What info or documents does she need to take for me?

Scan and email a written consent form for the cenomar. Enclose scanned copy of your ID like passport.

This is what I did last week and my fiancee took the copies and applied on my behalf for hers and mine at the same time.

Your fiancee needs to ensure all her requirements are in the same name and address. i.e., her commellec and cedula.
