Just got Fibre Optic Broadband - It's awesome!

Just upgraded to fibre optic with talktalk.

After 3 days of problems with the connection I can finally use it today.

Its awesome. So quick. Its lovely to be able to upload large videos to you tube in minutes instead of hours.

The only thing I would say is if you want to consider it, it might take a few days to work if the connection isn't setup correctly. Maybe something important to consider if a connection is vital for work etc.

but now its working its great. Skype video calls are much better quality. As that's our main way of communication, it was hard not to have a connection for 3 days.

The only problem is the rubbish upload speeds in the Philippines. Skype for us is really bad. We use Wechat (well from China to Phils) as the video quality is very good. On Skype from China to the UK video quality is say 95% clarity, Skype Philippines to UK or China 65% quality or less.

For me I think the Philippines providers should really pull their finger's out for better upload speeds.

But good to know you have a good connection now Cheekee I am sure it helps a lot.

    Steve..
ALWAYS use a router with a strong password.. Their are many illegal connections here, especially wireless ones borrowing other peoples Mac addresses.

I tried to get BT Infinity fibre optic a few weeks ago. But they delivered the equipment to the wrong address and the engineer didn't turn up on the arranged day. Every time I spoke to them on the phone, they didn't have a clue about the problems I was having.

Eventually I cancelled the order, but I'm still having problems with my refund.

It's a shame. Technically, it looks like BT have a great product with infinity, but their customer service is utterly shambolic.

Have to say the video quality on skype to the Philippines seems better bothways. Sheina says its much better her end and she isnt so blurry my end. I can see her much more clearly
