HI Guys.

My wife was issued a 27 month spouse visa last August. We are in Guernsey and after reading a lot of posts here about the length of spouse visas being 30-33 months I though I would ask Guernsey Immigration why my wife's visa was only valid for 27 months.

Today they told me that my wife could apply for ILR after a maximum 2 years but 28 days before. She would still need to do Life in UK test but that's about it really.

I asked if they could send me this in writing of course which they will get round to doing.Just seems strange how its different for the Channel Islands and how Its a shorter route to getting ILR here even though its part of Britain and the Visa is issued by UK Immigration.

Of course the usual finances and language rules apply.

Don't get me wrong its a good thing but when I asked immigration why this was they could not give me a definitive answer.
