IELTS Advice
Help again please peeps
1: My fiancée wants to do her IELTS review in Cebu but she is not sure where the best place is to go. She has checked all the accredited places but not sure which one is best.
2: Also she has been looking online and from what she has read it's ok to pass with 4 or 5 - but to excel and be able to work here in UK after we're married and processed for the ILR she will need at least a 7 or 8.
Could you shed some light on these matters please.
Has anyone actually experienced this?

If your fiancée intends to take IELTS for her visa application she needs to secure a score of 4 for the Speaking and Listening modules.
If she is granted a Fiancée visa she will not be allowed to work until she has been granted FLR(M)
Which is basically a spouse visa. Only then will she be allowed to work.
In general there's no mandatory requirement to pass at a higher level in order to secure employment - unless she wishes to be employed in certain specific sectors (nursing for example).
Besides which, she could study and take the needed higher level English test here in UK if required.

I am not advertising but to save you and your fiancee some couple of bucks in enrolling an English review center here in Cebu, you might want to try SMEAG in Mabolo, Cebu. All you need to pay for is the exam fee and you or the reviewee can access to their review materials. It also includes weekly (Saturdays) mock tests that would help you practice like doing the actual test. I've been there, done with IELTS and had very satisfactory results!
