    Annual Salary & Savings

Hi guys help if you can.

1: I know my annual salary is enough I have £22k a year on average for the processing but on some of my bank statements I have gone over drawn will this affect the outcome of our application (will they question it).

2: And regarding my savings if I only have a small amount £2000 or £3000 savings will this affect the outcome of our application (will they question it).

    Thanks a lot everyone.

I would strongly suggest you review the latest Financial Requirement as stated in chapter 8 of the immigration rules. It'll certainly help you understand the detail and the supporting documentation.

In principle it's your gross earned income that's important. You must show it meets the requirement for the category that best fits with your employment circumstances.
As you know, for a couple only the income threshold sits at £18600 minimum for the starting position.

UKVI has no interest in living costs / affordability / overdrafts or credit cards etc
Only target is the gross income.

Regarding savings, if you meet the income threshold they have no bearing at all.

For savings to be of any value in meeting income shortfall then UKVI will only consider the amount above £16000 as being allowable in the factoring calculation.

Hope that helps but please review carefully the nitty gritty........the devil is in the detail and you need to select the appropriate category for you

    Probably category A

But if you've any complications like overtime, bonus, unsocial hours etc then I'd suggest reading the Financial Requirements in Chapter 8 of the immigration rules

    Thanks Terpe.

Can you provide a link for Chapter 8.

I have my main full time job for which I get unsocial hours and weekend enhancements. I also work back shifts on top of this.

That's why I'm not sure how I would proceed.

Chapter 8 of the immigration directorate instructions is used by UK Visas and Immigration when dealing with family applications.

Here's a link for Chapter 08: Family Members

Here's a link for Chapter 8: appendix FM family members which contains some really important appendices including the one you requested Annex FM Section FM 1.7: Financial Requirement

Hope these links will provide some useful bedtime reading

... just shows that - for once in my life - I was in the "right place at the right time" when we applied for Myrna's Spousal Visa in January 2009.

Nowadays, on my income ... ... it would've been an absolute *NIGHTMARE, a complete & utter waste of time and, of course, totally impossible!
