I think Steve was interested in doing this as I remember? Just look at the pics in this article.

A couple of 40' containers would make an ideal home in Philippines!

After having worked and slept in them during Hong Kong's (tropical) summer, I can tell you that you'll be living in an oven.
By the time you've spent money on making them habitable....though they'll probably still look like the office in a car breaker's yard...may as well build a house that looks nice and is more in keeping with its Philippines surroundings.

Wow....a bargain !
Still looks like what it is...a container with a roof put over the top of it.
Give me some wood and a hammer, nails, and a saw.

Blinkin ridiculous.
A couple of pumps on that forecourt would set it off a treat though.

They are only hot if they are sitting in the sun.. The one below needs the roof to extend into a car port and then it will be as cool as any house here..
Better still, they are earthquake and typhoon proof.

I am still interested, and the one above is the sort of place I would build. The sleeping rooms would be in the containers and the living space would be outside of them.
Lots of shade, plus remember you can always use fridge container to keep cool.
Everything is possible if you set your mind to it.

Amazing what can be done with a couple of old containers, also if designed correctly there will be no problems keeping cool. Remember earthquake and typhoon proof!

Unless you live near a port or main road the chances are they would be unable to deliver a container.

Is this same as caravan and mobile home? If yes, is this really nice to live in the caravan as I've never seen one here in the Philippines.
