The “ nutritional and medicinal benefits “ claimed for Malunggay are amazing indeed !

The “ weight for weight “ claims for vitamins, nutrients and minerals are credible – and in moderation, consuming malunggay in its various forms may at least do no harm.

The “ medicinal benefits “ are harder to believe ! “ Anti –cancer “ ? ( unlikely there will ever be an agent which can prevent or treat all 200+ cancer types ) ; “ good for diabetic patients “ ? ( “ said to balance sugar levels “ ); “ boosts the immune system “ ? ( vague – there are many components of this system ); “ famous for antibacterial properties “ ? ( there are many types of good and bad bacteria ); “ protects the liver and kidneys “ ? ( how ? ) …

It’s vital, in my opinion, not to believe all these claims to the extent that proven methods of prevention and treatment are avoided through ignorance ( or, sadly, because they’re unaffordable ).

I wouldn’t seriously recommend this Filipino – UK combination, but if the malunggay didn’t protect your liver, the DocAlan whisky might preserve it ! :-

Well investigated Alan. Some amazing claims for all sorts of things these days - I remember being wowed by Wheat-grass as the new wonder food!
