Following on from a different thread--I am very confused about the current costs of the various stages in the Settlement Visa process. I have read the link to the latest UKBA page of charges--which only adds to the confusion.

Can someone please respond with the current charges in the 5 year route--let's say for a fiancee visa. Thanks

Spouse:-

Settlement (Entry Clearance) = £885
Further Leave to Remain FLR(M) = £601
Indefinite Leave to Remain ILR = £1093
Naturalisation (British Citizenship) = £906

Total = £3485


Fiance(e):-

Settlement (Entry Clearance) = £885
First period of Further Leave to Remain FLR(M) = £601
Second period of Further Leave to Remain FLR(M) = £601
Indefinite Leave to Remain ILR = £1093
Naturalisation (British Citizenship) = £906

Total = £4086

All based on standard postal applications and only including Visa Application fees.
So no account of English Language Tests, TB Screening, Life in UK Tests etc and all those other costs associated with submission of Initial Entry Clearance Spouse/Fiance(e) visa application in Philippines.

Many thanks for that Terpe---that's how i read the FLR fee--£601---as against £1000 mentioned elsewhere.

So the economics of getting married here--and paying the FLR twice--would seem to be less than the cost of a return flight out there.

Well solely in terms of the costs of Visa Fees......
Although some folks feel that the Fiance(e) Visa is somewhat more tricky to manage in terms of proof of relationship, intention to get married, and intention to live together permanently in UK.
Additionally, under a Fiance(e) Visa, a wedding still needs to take place in UK .
Until the FLR(M) is approved the applicant is prohibited from working. (either paid work or unpaid work such as volunteer work) .......potentially a cost there too......cost involved due to lost opportunity for earnings

As always it's a personal choice.....everyone has their own view on which one is the best for them.

Every application for a visa has it's risks.

I've tried looking for the info on the UKBA website, but seeing as I haven't taken any ADHD meds since I got pregnant, I'm currently unable to concentrate on reading anything longer than three sentences.
