Clegg must be absolutely crazy. I'm broadly pro-EU, however I know it's a bloated dinosaur which has smashed British interests into pieces and wrecked many British businesses.

"It's decimated our fishing industry, wrecked our historic trade links with our real friends all over the world, bound us in more red tape than ever before, and caused Britain to lose control of our borders, forcing down British wages due to massive massive immigration we have no control over, causing the concreting over of Britain due to this immigration and thrown our doors open to anyone from the EU who wants to come here to sponge on our benefits", has more public clout than "Well those Nissan factories wouldn't have come here if it wasn't to get into the EU market".

And frankly all Farage needs to say is "If you were the CEO of Nissan, would you keep investing in Britain with British wage costs, or how long would it take you to realise you could relocate all those factories to Romania - also in the EU, also with every benefit being in Britain has, but with cheaper work costs"

Frankly it's amazing these companies haven't realised this already.

Sadly, all much too late to save what previous generations died for. Naturally the spineless, cowardly leaders of the major parties won't be putting their heads above the parapet.

Clegg is absolutely desperate. The Liberals are in serious danger of being blown out of politics by UKIP and this is his desperate attempt to hang on to 3rd place.
Farage has the facts and figures and public opinion in his favour.
The people want a referendum and Clegg doesn't want one.

It should be the peoples choice whether we want to stay in Europe or not. Not Cleggs not Camerons and not Millibands.

I felt that too......but then he's reflecting many of the key issues worrying the population.....including me.
I do believe, rightly or wrongly, that Nigel Farage is trusted much more than Nick Clegg.

Some pretty good questions......and some good answers too

I got the feeling the gloves won't come off for that 'brutal' face-off until the main event later

Cameron is pro EU, he doesn't want to leave the EU and I'm sure he said there would only be a vote if he can't fix what's wrong with the the EU

No, he did not Joe, he said there would be a referendum in 2017
"The Prime Minister said he wanted to renegotiate the UK's relationship with the EU and then give people the "simple choice" between staying in under those new terms, or leaving the EU"

Joe instead of just copying and pasting read the bloody thing - Cameron will offer a referendum in 2017.

Yes, he wants us to stay in but he is still giving us the choice after he has tried to get a better deal!

It's a tricky call, I want to stay in but have control over our own laws.

He will give us the vote and don't even go there with failed promises or I will end up clogging up the forum with all the Labour lies and drivel for the last goodness knows how many years.

Les, there IS only 1 law, and that's EU law

The only way to beat them is play them at their own game, if everyone votes UKIP and the UK 87 MEP are all UKIP then maybe we can get the EU laws changed

Farage was far more polished and scored the victory.

Cameron may well give us a vote if he gets back in

He will then do what Clegg did last night = spend the run up to the vote with scare stories about leaving the EU

Milibands missed the boat on this one and has misjudged the countries anti EU feelings

Just to be able to control who is coming in is enough reason to leave the EU

Farage is the only one talking any sense........................

What's annoying is when other countries (France good example) are told to do things they just say Non!

When they interfere in things like whole life sentences for .......s like Lee Rigby's killers we should just say get stuffed, if you attempt to fine us we're out.
