Hi, does anyone know the timescale for a replacement BRP card as my Florsel needs to send her BRP card to the British Embassy to have it updated due to changing her name to her married name

Many thanks Rayna, did that include sending the BRP back & then doing biometrics & then waiting for the new BRP ?

Well, their press release is only 3 weeks. But I can't complain a month compared to 10 months of waiting for my FLR(M).

BRP is £38, but you have to pay £19 (I can't remember the exact amount) to the Post Office for processing the biometrics.

I found faulty on my BRP when it arrived so I emailed them and they responded after 2 days. They returned my passport as well as my new BRP a week after.

They're very quick to react when BRP has been issued with errors

Hi Can I ask, does your wifes new BRP have the same name as her passport now - Ie did you get name changed in passport also to married name?
Im in the same situation but there is virtually no way to get my wifes passport name changed into our married name (long story but big time pork barrel in the PH system for our case)
    Cheers
    Baz

Passport and BRP must be the same name.

Hi Terpe, I thought as much, when we apply for citizenship / passport in years to come will they be able to use her UK married name or still go on what is on the BRP ?

The current naturalisation application form asks for the name that will be used for the naturalisation certificate. It does not need to be the name of the existing passport.

The UK passport will be issued in the name on the naturalisation certificate.
