What income would my widow need in R o P

I am looking at the time when I will have died (taxes and death are the only certainties in life)

    .

I am looking to provide for my wife when I die. We now live in Spain.

I would like to know if she decided to return to Phil, what income she would need to live a comfortable, whilst not luxurious, life in Cainta, Rizal.

I should be most grateful for information.

    Thanks
    John

This will be another "how long is a piece of string" thread but I would say if she had no rent to pay then 600 Quid a month would be fine as long as it is for her alone.. Of course you need to consider inflation year after year to maintain the same standard as when she first arrived..
To put things in another perspective, many Filipino workers have to support a small family on 5k a month! (or less) so of course that 50k could be reduced.. It all depends on the lifestyle that your Mrs would be comfortable with.
Of course there are other things to consider..Like future possible medical costs etc..

I am from cainta also and i would say 30k (at present) a month is quite comfortable. This includes utilities, food, grocery items, beauty salon, cinema, eating out, maid. Without the medicine, house rental and "extended family" miscellaneous expenses.

Just like Fred said, it depends on her lifestyle.

It feels good to read a post like this. Your wife is a lucky one
